Tips for shooting in low light

I’ve been struggling with low light conditions lately, especially during nighttime city shots; i noticed that my photos come out really grainy even when I bump up the ISO. What settings work best for you in these situations? Any specific lenses or techniques you swear by?

I totally get the graininess frustration. In low light, I’ve found that using a wide aperture, like f/2.8 or even wider, can help a lot. It lets in more light and keeps the ISO lower, which reduces noise.
