Seeing more photographers embracing film lately

I’ve noticed a lot more photographers picking up film over digital lately, which seems like a refreshing shift — a friend’s recent workshop on film techniques made me appreciate the depth and character film brings… Has anyone else felt this trend, or found new ways to mix both mediums in their work?

It’s been fun mixing film and digital in my recent projects. I love using film for portraits; it brings such unique warmth and character, but I’ll often capture the same scene digitally for immediate feedback. Have you tried developing your own film at home? It’s a game-changer for controlling the process.

I’ve definitely noticed the resurgence in film too; there’s something about its unpredictability that keeps things exciting. Mixing it into my workflow has pushed me to be more deliberate with shots, especially during that recent workshop. What techniques have you found most effective for blending the two mediums, @lhenry73?

Mixing film and digital can really enhance your storytelling. I love capturing motion on film; it brings an organic feel that often gets lost digitally. Ever tried playing with double exposures in both formats?
