And i’ve been experimenting with natural light versus artificial light for my portrait sessions lately. It’s interesting how different setups can shape the mood of a photo. Who else has been exploring this, and what tricks have you found work best?
I’ve had great results using a large white reflector when shooting in natural light; it really helps to bounce some extra warmth onto the subject’s face. I find it especially useful in the early morning or late afternoon when the light’s softer. Have you tried mixing in some backlighting for added depth?
Mixing natural light with a bit of artificial, like a soft LED panel, can really help blend the two and create a nice, balanced look… I find it especially useful during golden hour to maintain that warmth without losing detail. Have you considered using diffusers to soften the light further?
I’ve found that using a large diffuser can really help to soften harsh shadows when using artificial lights… It’s amazing how a little diffusion can change the dynamics of a portrait. Do you usually shoot during golden hour, or is that more of a special occasion for you?
