40 frames of pure black

Set up at golden hour with the 35mm. Fired 40 frames at a cyclist before I noticed the lens cap was still on. Please tell me it’s not just me.

Yup — shot 24 frames at ‘golden hour’ with cap on; bright cap leash fixed it. :see_no_evil_monkey:.

I set image review to 1s in the EVF so a pure‑black first frame screams “cap on”; mapped it to a Fn toggle so it’s off when I’m tracking cyclists — saved me more than once, @liamsto24. Worth a try?

But happens to me; my stealthiest ND filter is the lens cap. I leave AF‑confirm beep on so if it won’t chirp in daylight I know it’s ‘cap on’ and yank it — annoying at quiet events, so I toggle it off; pairs nicely with a bright leash, @beaver571.

Happened at golden hour with my 35 too; I just shoot cyclists with a deep hood and no cap. Cap goes straight in the left pocket before I raise the camera — ‘pocket check = cap off.’ Trade‑off is a bit more dust and the odd smudge, but it beats 40 black frames.
